Party, the combined service records of Clinton, Gore and Bush, 3 for 1, would not have won a sand lot baseball game war. Now, Herbert could play some baseball. But no pride can be asserted if you combined those three. I say that as one who took a student deferment to avoid going to VietNam. I didn't want to go. When my lottery number came out at 284 I entered the draft pool by dropping the deferment. Didn't go. Not proud. Not ashamed. Not beating a dead horse. The commander in chief himself has laid the issue to rest.
