all the positive feedback in the system works equally well to the downside as it did on the upside

My copy of "The Coming Internet Depression" arrrived yesterday from those nice people at Amazon. The feedback theme is explored in some detail in his book. The book is rather short (150-some small pages with large type), but I think it's worth reading. Some slightly different perspectives on the well-known issues.

The official release date for the book is tomorrow, so I'm happy with Amazon's service <g>.

I've seen that stock option money flowing into ridiculous $500K McMansions on the West Hill

Whoa! My 1985-vintage 1600 sq ft townhouse in San Jose has a market value of $500k right now. You're saying that money buys a mansion in the Portland area???

bobcor, I live in those West Hills you made the ridiculous generalization about. Me, I work in the old economy (forest products) and none of my neighbors hinge on INTC options either. I know you are not stupid but you made yourself sound like a mcidiot as you would put it with that post. BTW your house no doubt was also a part of some nice forest or a pristine meadow at some point and the power you use to post this nonsense was no doubt created from a river that once flowed free, get real you make yourself sound like one of the clowns you like to laugh at. ng
