It's Fall and AAPL tree trimmin' time as Mitch Mandich retires

His Timness of Cook , a former IBMer from CPQ, assumes his duties while a search for a replacement is enacted:

----
" AAPL today announced that Mitch Mandich, senior
vice president of Worldwide Sales, will be retiring from Apple at the end of December.

``Mitch has been a key member of Apple's senior management team during the past three years, and has led our sales efforts with vigor and integrity,'' said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO.

``Mitch plans to retire and spend more time with his family. We will miss him.''

The company has a search underway for Mandich's replacement. Tim Cook, Apple's senior vice president of Operations, will assume Mandich's responsibilities until a replacement is named."

Looks like a "team" position until December.

Sir Cook has cooked up some real nice option profits at AAPL and hopefully he can add his magic to bettering sales.

Mr Mandich came from NeXT . Had to be a difficult transition whereas Mr Cook seems qualified by past experience .

IBM permanently burns selling skills into your brain.

Ambition ? yes that too , but honesty , come on ... get real , this IS computer selling Ya know and we ain't # 1 , yet !
