Very excellent point. And, contrary to the way it should be government employees have far more benefits, more time off, better retirement and less work load than the folks in the private sector who support them. I thought it was real interesting when Clinton shut the government down a few years back. Everyone was talking about the poor government employees who were "shut out." Well, those government employees just got a free vacation. They lost nothing, gained a vacation and were only inconvenienced in that they had to wait a few days for their pay. Also, frankly I think congress has been sort of insulting in what they have granted themselves in retirement. I don't know all the rules but they essentially get full pay for the rest of their lives along with annual increases. And, they work for us. I will quickly say these rules were made when the democrats were in control although I am ashamed to say I am sure many republicans also voted themselves this sweetheart deal.

Hey, why is it that Congress gets its own health plan and not the one other civil servants get?
