O/T - Thread Traffic & Visibility

Vince: IMHO, the "Strictly Drilling and Oilfield Services" thread is where that request should be posted if you want maximum visibility.

Subject 12099

The SD thread has over 75,000 posts to date, and is currently running at over 100 posts per day. There is some serious traffic through that thread, and some of the smartest people in the oil patch read it every day. The name of the thread is not very descriptive nowadays since there is just as much talk about E&P issues on the thread as there is about oil service issues. Your request will be perfectly on topic.

Vincent, excellent piece one question though it was written in July of 1999 have opinions changed regarding the predicted severe price pressure between 2004 and 2010? It would seem to me that consumption rates may be a bit higher than one may have expected when this piece was first written. Your question regarding depleation rates leads me to believe you may be asking yourself the same question. FWI most of the E@P's I follow had lower production rates in Q2 of this year but I'm waiting for Q3 numbers to see if a trend is forming. Will also be on the watch for year end reserve replacement numbers, although the PV10's should be higher due to pricing one will need to dig into the actual reserves to get a true picture. Thanks for any input.

Thanks Vincent,

That is an interesting look into the future of oil pricing.
Well worth the ink and paper to print it off.
