Adamo, thank you for your post. As regard to Dell futures, I probably know more about sending a mission ot Mars, than PC business!! Therefore I can't comment on the technical aspects of Dell. My comments are based on the common sense, my business experience! Dell pioneered the PC marketing via internet. It became the darling of the Wall-Street. By exceptional rate of growth they out did CPQ, IBM, and the rest of the PC makers. Until here we made money. Two years ago they defeated CPQ in the US market, but there something went wrong! Three years ago, I was posting on the same that there was non or very little Dell presence in Europe. In the same posts I mentioned that the European shopping habits were different. Dell failed to adapt to European
shopping habits and tried to convert us instead. They failed. They may sell components, but they don't sell many PC's. CPQ, HWP, Apple, and IBM sell plenty. Even Olivetti, the third world Italian PC maker sells more than Dell!

The Dell's novelty has worn out, but they are still a first class PC makers, nothing more and nothing less. I they want to make diversify, I doubt if they can see the results overnigh. The shift from one line to another, at these levels is costly and slow. They have to go against CPQ (that seems to have addressed their problems ),Apple and IBM! I own 3 out of four major PC makers (with the exception of Apple) and non of them are doing well. It is not a pleasant picture.
