In fact, I am a firm believer that this porch is here for people to discuss whatever the hell they want to. In this particular instance, I merely agreed with dealer in that I thought this particular discussion was getting out of hand. Over 400 posts in a short time period. 99% about BUSH/GORE, and 95% the same stuff, over, and over again. I am a firm believer in free speech....fress discussion. I am also a firm believer that this porch should be used as a forum to discuss anything we want....after all, this is america and that is what free speech is all about. However, that doesnt mean, that every now and then a line can be crossed. Again, in this instance, I personally wasnt upset about the political discussion, I was more upset that I had to spend so much time going over the same posts over and over again. I feel the points people were trying to make were made....many times, and the discussion was getting carried away and it was just time to bring up something new or leave it alone already. No harm no foul

<font color=red>LET'S TRY IT AGAIN---Political Discussion We are asking that everyone be considerate of others and insisting that there be NO personal attacks. There are a lot of well informed people on the porch and this is why I believe the opinions of those same peope are important to other porchers......... If we can keep it on the light side perhaps we can continue........We do not want to stand in the way of someone making an educated decision of something so important to the future of our country. This to will pass on the second Tuesday of November.......be sure to vote. This board was moderated because of one person's taking advantage of the Freedom Of Speech to disrupt the previous board......Freedom of Speech is not the reason for our reopening these discussions...........the reason is to enable the regular Porchers to be able to discuss any subject that they would like to discuss. I would like to thank those that cooperated in the request for ending the discussion whether you agreed or not. If you feel like these discussions are getting out of hand or become tired of it please place your displeasure on the public board....without personal attacks.....and if necessary we will take a public vote from regular Porchers as to discontinue or not........... Again please: No personal attacks Hoping that this board will not be used by those running other political boards to re-locate moving in and taking over these discussions. I have posted your links and the porchers know where to find you. One lurker has mentioned they did not want to move to the political boards because of the bitterness that is there, we do not want that bitterness to become a part of this thread. Voltaire stated that he would like for everyone to feel free to be able to discuss anything they would like on the board as long as we are considerate of others. dealie &hearts; (with her fingers crossed)
