That is an incredible story!!!

Unfortunately, I don't have time to look further into it now but if you come across some more hot links, I'd appreciate you posting them. Un-f'n-believable!!! And it's getting colder
as we speak.

That is an amusing find, Arch.
I don't know if it is real.
I searched everywhere I could on the internet for reference to two of the three SPR recipients mentioned, without success.
I did notice that the article mentioned that one awardee lived in black Harlem, the second awardee has ties to the "Florida Black business development advocate group" and the third awardee, Euell Energy, is privately held by a prominent black family.
euellenergy.com

From the website:
<<< One of the Top 100 Black Owned Businesses in the U.S. according to Black Enterprise Magazine, 1980, 1981 >>>

I think that this post you referenced may be a joke after all; one in very bad taste.
Can anyone else find a link that lists the recent SPR release awardees? I can't.

I wasn't aware of this, but it seems that the US SPR is 2/3 sour oil (high sulphur content).
fe.doe.gov

<<< The current mix of crude oil is 64 percent high sulfur (sour) and 36 percent low sulfur (sweet). >>>
This will need a lot of processing and will result in a lower net yield.

Anyway, thanks for linking this other SI message.
It made for some interesting digging while I day-trade the morning away here.

PS: What a rally on the Nasdaq in the last hour!
Yippee!
