Oblomov, from what I hear- and I cannot verify this- many fund managers are relentlessly selling into all rallies either for tax loss reasons or to lock in year end bonuses (by selling stocks that they have held for years and which have appreciated considerably.) If that's the case, then a true bottom could take hold by the end of October.

PS A short term bottom does seem at hand here.
