Any year end rally will have to fight through tax-loss selling. First by the 'day-trading' funds (oct 31) and then by individuals (dec 31).

I've done this for more than 20 years. There is no rhyme or reason in the market anymore. It's just getting worse each day.

Maybe memory fails, but I'd consider this market to be a picnic compared to the latter '70s.
