Thanks nihil. Your suggestions are good and welcome. I have employed a tax attorney who is also a CPA and we have implemented many of your suggestions already. However, it is a shame the tax even exists. Also, to address your statement regarding attorneys contingency fees and punitive damages; Unfortunately, at least in our area, I don't think the percentages 33 1/3% to 40% plus expenses are generally negotiable. I know it is illegal to price fix but I believe most attorneys have come to the independent decision that is the right fee. Also, punitive damages are a fine. They should not be awarded to the attorney or the plaintiff. The plaintiff gets the compensatory damages which should make them whole.
