That news was out over the weekend or last friday. Didn't help dhell much after the initial opening. Was a blockbuster for EDS, though.

Cobalt, this Navy contract is very fishy IMHO. Sources I know at work were referring to the contract as already won by IBM. The other two times I've heard info like this the deals were ****real**** shady. I heard IBM was going to supply E-bay with servers. At the last minute they went with Sun because Sun basically gave them the servers for free and agreed to spend millions on Internet advertising on E-bay just to avoid a PR disaster. The other one was IBM supplying Enron with $350 million in servers. Sun pretty much low balled IBM to the point where they said, fine, sell them the servers and we'll take the service contract. My gut feeling on this one is that EDS went so low that IBM couldn't justify beating their price. Time will tell I guess....
