Being a VC isn't always fun, profitable and glamorous. In fact, they just ran an article in the local paper today about "down rounds". That is when a company raises money from VC's at a lower valuation than the preceding round. So...what's happening to MVC (short-term) in the public markets is the same as what is happening to companies (like the ones MVC invests in) in the private equity markets. It's been a long, cold shower, I hope it's over soon....
