Man, what an attitude.

I see this as Baret positioning Otellini to be the next fall guy.

If you recall, Otellini was on the short list, make that preferred guy, for both the Compaq and HP CEO jobs.

Nope, as Paul has implied, I see this as, Otellini cleaning up after Yu's mess. However, you are entitled to your own interpretation.

Nonetheless, Otellini sure had better be focused on Itanium's launch phase and deliver on it right, especially since Barrett has said Otellini has all the resources he needs in order to do the job right. i.e. No excuses.
