The real world is that we have the best economy in 30 years and it's just common sense not to fix what isn't broken. A major tax cut goes directly against Rubin's strategy to pay off the debt and stay within our means. There is no way Bush can afford all the things he's promising and give such a tax cut. You know it, I know it, everyone should know it. It's just more borrowed money, higher debt, higher interest rates and inflation. The nation debt clock has been moving backwards in recent years. If it were start forward again that would be a national tragedy and irresponsible fiscal management to say the least. Bush has no plan for reducing the national debt. Instead, the government would borow more and give back tax to people who don't really need it. And since interest rates would rise over time it would be wash anyway. Free money it would not be. The only way to cut taxes is to stop paying off the national debt and cut services. Steady as she goes I say.
