That was the gist of my suggestion. If the company waits too long to IPO the various spinoffs, someone else can beat them to the market

Then again, while I prefer the method that increases shareholder value the greatest, if they don't spin them off and they are still successful in their business venture, then MRV will reap the rewards in their own reported revenues and earnings.

Win-win as far as I'm concerned.

Well time to market and time to IPO are two completely different things.

What makes you think they can't pursue their markets WHILE they prepare for IPO? I'm sure they are.
