Re: If we are, AMD sure has bad timing.

Ed,

You can say that again.

If this was last year and everything else the same, AMD would be a $50 billion company.

So I went out to get educated and before very long decided the market was going to crash any day now. That was about 1985. The market has been very high priced for years now. Guess what? For the most part I missed out on one of the greatest bull markets in history.

You sound like the traders I've read about back in '29 who were shorting the market, then threw in the towel and went long days before the market crashed.

In any event, I'm keeping enough calls in my back pocket just in case Al can keep the printing presses running full speed ahead, the dollar doesn't crash, people keep buying garbage earnings, the BLS data gets bought hook line and sinker, and whatever else is keeping this game going.

RE:"Sooner or later the bear will rear its ugly head, but we've long past the point of a return to DOW 1000 or Nasdaq 500. I would guess at this point a real calamity could take us to 3 or 4 thousand on the DOW, but I haven't seen anything that convinces me we are headed in that direction. You never know. If we are, AMD sure has bad timing."

Eplace, hopefully, Chic will soon understand that betting too much on doom and gloom can be hazardous to your wealth.
