funny enough, the fact that everybody piled into tech is what is now hanging over the tech stocks...they're 'overowned', with portfolio allocations oriented along the lines of tech's share of the major indices (or rather, its share of the S&P 500), not its share of the economy (33% vs. 6%).
now that everybody and his aunt has piled into financials, any hint of bad news in that area will likely provoke a similar reaction...

btw, i think the market needs that to build a buyable bottom: no sector must remain safe.
