Boatbuilder friend of mine turned 45 tonight. Party in his shop. Had to leave the car and walk -- it's a village -- np. Anyway, got to play with the new lathe -- very nice. After a few, I wanted to make a pool cue on the spot, but the boys figured that was a fast way to die -- hard to get maple down to 7/16" tip without fvucking up. I agreed of course. Figuring I would not turn a piece of wood, I wisely left the vehicle. Nothing like a shop full of drunk men and lots of very powerful stationary tools.
