Chaz,

<< But thought you were a WAP grumbler - as of now with Verizon? >>

I HATE WAP! <g>

Verizon is shaping up some data services a bit with their brand new (and evolving) "Mobile Web" service. Makes navigation easier.

In a recent press release they announced:

"Verizon Wireless will add content and functionality to its Mobile Web service. These include location-based services, such as the delivery of coupons for a nearby retailer or restaurant directly to the customer's handset, based on specified preferences and usage trends. Mobile Web will also serve as the platform for digital two-way SMS (short messaging service), which the company plans to launch by the end of 2000."

They sure need the added content.

I need a better mobile terminal (better display particularly), than anything Verizon currently offers.

SMS might help.

"Always on" packet data could help but that is not near term for Verizon, IMO.

Meantime, I use the phone as a modem for a Palm, primarily. Don't need that ~!@#$%^ WAP.
