That was a comment from Greenspan a while back who noted that real estate wealth appreciation was contributing more to the "wealth effect" than stocks.

Fortunately I am not an economist myself, so I don't have to spend months poring over the data to decide if he is right. But I figure he has most of the relevant numbers at his disposal.

In terms of rate of return, stocks can give you more faster, no doubt.
