Well, should I believe your cousin, taking the chance that your demagoguery is genetic, or should I look to the state of Alaska's oil spill recovery information:

Those species that are on their way to recovering:

oilspill.state.ak.us

Those that have not (noting that in several examples there may, or may not be a linkage to the Valdez spill):

oilspill.state.ak.us

And those species which have recovered (including that furry sea otter):

oilspill.state.ak.us

So I would have to say that the State of Alaska is calling your cousing, AND YOU, a couple of exaggerating Gore "sock puppets"

Are you related to Gore, btw?

ExxonMobil, the only corporation whose profits regularly top General Electric's
$1 billion per month, sees soaring energy prices as an opportunity to push its
national agenda in an election year.

This week, the oil companies are planning to release a "policy statement" on what
the next President and Congress should do to boost gas and oil supplies and
stabilize prices, Townsend said.

Big Oil wants more room to drill and pipe from politically sensitive areas such as
Alaska's Arctic and the Canadian North. High energy prices prove "the world
clearly wants this kind of development, and we are trying to provide it,"
Townsend said. "You can't have economic growth - you're not going to get better
standards of living - without energy growth."
