Re: <<The discussion I have objected to is the theory that PCs are dead and that the future is 'thin clients only'. This is what JC keeps stating and this is where he so terribly off base.>>

Well put, David. I think the "J" in JC stands for "jihad". Will he go straight to Sun Heaven if he gives his virtual life against the Saracen, MSFT?

Or maybe the "J" stands for "Johnny" as in "Johnny One-Note".

Another metaphor in JC's case - "If your only tool is a hammer, the rest of the world start to look like a nail."

Or, to paraphrase Lord Hamlet, "There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy, JCJarotio."

I can't resist one more - "It's not what JC doesn't know that will hurt him; it's what he knows that ain't so!"

Ciao,

Daniel

European refridgerator companies now include a computer in the fridge door with a TFT panel. And no, they don't run Windows. It's a thin client. A big, big thin client acting as an insulating door to a cold place. Main reason to make this a thin client, and not a PC: It has to work right away, and never be serviced.

When my fridge, my TV, my game console, my GSM phone are thin clients, I don't have to go to my PC every time I need access to software.
