Jim - RE: "Then I thought about it. Why is Intel spending a bunch of money promoting the Pentium III when the Pentium IV is right around the corner?"

Maybe there is a message in there.

Assuming the numbers the Register has are correct, Intel will make more money per processor selling a 1.13GHz PIII than a 1.4Ghz P4.

We'll leave performance speculation alone for another six weeks... I wonder what Intel will say tomorrow at the MPF. I hope they give some benchmarks out, along with AMD and Mustang.

Jim, the second time I saw the commercial, I liked it too. The paint kind of shocks you into attention. As for why are they pushing PIII, I immediately thought to myself, because they want to sell as many as they possibly can. I know, duh. Far too early to start advertising P4 because they aren't available.

Within a minute of seeing the Intel commercial, flipping the dial, caught a Gateway intel inside commercial. And, Compaq Enterprise is one of the sponsors on MNF also. Compaq is doing all they can to get away from the "PC only" image. Dell too. Computers are taking over for cars and beer.

Jim, good game too. Did you see Warren Sapp block the field goal attempt with his stomach? Well, not exactly.
