There is a carbon cycle working... Basically plants take CO2 from atomsphere and use it to make photosynthesis. When plants and animals respire, they give off CO2. Also to decompose dead organisms you need to give off CO2. Fossil fuel burning gives off CO2 as well.. in the winter CO2 is higher because there is less photosynthesis. That's all I know. Paul
