How about going by evidence, rather than instincts. Here is a short summary you may find helpful:

washtimes.com;

Joe,

I appreciate the link but I stopped reading after the second accusation; it turns out that it (the second one) was not an embellishment. Last week,there was a news report (I think on CNN) that while Gore had been falsely accused of lying re the girl standing in class, it was incorrect....in fact, she did stand and there were instances of other students standing in other classes at the school; that in fact, the classrooms are seriously crowded in that school. At first the superintendant denied the allegation but later admitted it was true. However no students stand now.

But the worst part about this is that in an effort to discredit Gore, the important message has been lost....that our schools are still suffering from overcrowding.

Edit: I decided to go back and read some more; one alleged embellishment is that he said he was involved in talks re the Strategic Petro Reserve since the first days it was started...however he did not enter the house until 2 years after the Reserve was created. Give me a break...first, its 2000...25 years since the Reserve began, if I was involved with the Reserve back in 1977, or in the first two years of something, I would consider them to be the first days 25 years hence. Besides I do not see this as a major gaffe.

Another was that his mother sang union lullabies to get him to sleep...oh my God, what is wrong with people...I would have never taken such a comment seriously. His parents were not union people; his father was an elected official. Because the union song was written when Gore was 27, some twit sees this as a major break in his integrity. It seems to me that people have no sense of humor.

I gave up after that one. I sure he has embellished things, I think we all do from time to time plus he's been on the political scene for a long time.

BTW some one printed a list of things that Cheney has done but later denied or dismissed out of hand. I dislike Cheney worse than Bush and I find his record in gov't disturbing but I would hardly rake him over a bed of coals due his slip of the mind or selective memory.

Now if either candidate has murdered some one and trys to deny it later, then I would freak. <g>

So Joe, what you're saying is the press is all liberal, except for the Washington Times, which is "objective"? Maybe you should go back to Drudge. I think he's more reliable than the moonie front, for whatever that's worth.
