Ed, I think you do not fully comprehend what is happening down there and why. You should know that at the end of the 48/49 war, there were less than a million "Palestinian refugees", at the same time there were a million or so Jewish refugees streaming from Arab countries (from Maocco, to Yemen to Iran), many unwillingly leaving everything behind (I know, since I was raised with some of these refugees). Fifty years later, those Jewish refugees are intergrated into the fabric of Israeli society. That is an undeniable fact. Look at what happened to the million or less of Palestinian refugees. They were kept as refugees and in refugee camps all these years, not for their benefits, but as pawns in political fights for hegemony in the ME. There were forbidden from integrating into the societies they migrated to, and until today, they still cannot obtain citizenships in host countries, even if they were born there. It should have been a "population exchange" as happened earlier in this century (Greece/Turkey Silesia and numerous other places), but no, the rest of the Arab nations were going to fight Israel and throw its population into the sea, even if in the process, the last Palestinian refugee perishes. The Riches of the Gulf States far exceeds the help that Israel got from its supporters and world's Jewery to solve their own refugee problem. It is only avarice and political cynicism that has perpetuated that problem. Having lived for barely two months in a refugee camp, I cannot fathom the suffering and human degradation involved with living all your life as a refugee, and thus understand the frustation of the Palestinians. What I do not understand, is the willingness of their leaders to achieve their own power goals on the back of their bretherns. Arafat could have launched his "nation" into full devlopment for years now, but real peace does not seems to be his real aim. Tell me my friend, if we want peace with Mexico, will our school books teach arithmetic with examples such as "there were three Mexican drug dealers crossing the borders, the DEA killed two, how many were left?". Well even today, that is what the young Palestinian minds are fed in their schools with the "appropriate" transmutations. A Farce. Zeev
