I also like the idea of wind putting out these releases as well. Even if the product isn't likely to be a big seller, it still shows real world consumer products are coming, and gives the company making them a little free press at the same time. As for this device by itself, it might find a few homes. I can imagine some home theater buff with 14 remotes consolidating down to a touch screen (similar to the $1000+ creston touch screens, or the lower price phillips pronto, around $250 I think) They don't indicate specifics on the unit, but it they wanted to make it really cool, they would include the following. 1) Wireless connectivity (ala bluetooth) to the home network/broadband connection to the net. Hooking this thing up to a phone each night will be to much of an inconvenience. 2) Using the above, the ability to use it as a small internet appliance. It already has a decent size screen, why not use that to display a few key web pages, stock quotes, email or a recipe off the home network. 3) Needs long battery life, don't want to recharge everyday. Needs at least several days worth of juice. 4) As always, I want it cheap. More than a few hundred bucks and it won't find many homes.
