re: Reports are now out that GPRS data rates are going to be capped by handset manufacturers due to power consumption and EM radiation. This looks like that operators that implemented GPRS without buying spectrum would go to the limits. Operators that bought spectrum will work out a price structure that would put a cap in the data carrying capacity of GPRS. Thta is if I am a subscriber for GPRS in Pilzen if I roam around and go to Munich there my data capacity would still GPRS and not, say, EDGE. Hence the cap in the data ytrasmission. Guys, I am just thinking louder. Perhaps this loud thoughts hold not water.
