I think what you and Dave are saying in essence is a good system, or method, only needs a few indicators and usually simple ones and a good understanding of how they work.

Many new traders load up on as many as possible in the belief that all the signals out there add up to the answer. It is like handing a puzzle with 200 pieces to somebody and asking them to put it together but not telling them the 200 pieces make 100 different pictures, not just one.

If the trader is lucky and a little wise he will discover this at some point but very few seem to. Most continue the endless task and never get the picture.

To make it even harder, of the 100 methods one can make out of the 200 signals, only a few will fit the personality of the trader. So not only do you have to hunt through all the garbage, you have to find one you like.

Those of us who make it through should consider ourselves very fortunate.

Just adding some thoughts.
