Jacob, I'd rather put up with the occasional outburst and OT than post on a moderated thread with rules.

Jacob,

ReBrian has a long, long history of driving everyone off the thread whose opinion he disagreas with. He posts 20 times a day, and he is consistently nasty to anyone who posts anything that isn't ultrabullish.

Most of those posts contain information on the sector which many find useful. If you do not, just Ignore it. As for me driving everyone off the thread, I have been here since about post 3000. If your claims were indeed true, I am sure I would have been notified by SI Admin by now or there would have been a moderated thread started already, as with AMD and QCOM. Neither has happened so on the surface your claims appear spurious, at best and malicious at worst.

Additionally, we all have beliefs, some of which are stronger than others. I make no apology for expressing my views and I try to do so using civil discourse. How many other people would have come back with a counter-attack after your claims? You have your opinion and I have mine; nobody will ever say we are friends by any stretch of the imagination, but if you cannot agree to disagree I am sorry, for you.

BK

Jacob,

Now you know that around this time two years ago, Brian was very bullish, and you and he went round and round, and it was ugly. It's fair to say that you didn't share his outlook to say the least, and there were personal attacks on both sides, imo. It turned out that at least for the last two years he was right, and AMAT appreciated dramatically, about ten fold before this sell off. During the run you came back periodically with messages like, "the end is nigh," but Amat kept rising.

I think Brian's comments to Cary were too strong and clearly out of line, and he should apologize, but it seems you are using his misstep to get back at him. This seems personal between you two, and the conflict will not serve the members of this thread who are here for education and discussion, as opposed to entertainment. Brian has been a long time, heavy contributor here, perhaps more than anyone. You slam him for being a perma-bull, but various viewpoints are useful and they don't have to all come from one person. You are to be congratulated on your ability to be both positive and negative.

I might add that the pressure is great on an investor right now, so this type of dispute couldn't come at a worse time. I would hope you guys can ALL resolve this without a thread breakdown.

Gene

Jacob,

I was not offended by Brian. I don't think he means to be nasty or offensive, but I agree that his careless use of prose is likely to produce that result.

I don't think we need a new thread, but your 4 rules are a good model for this one.
