Apples to Oranges

JDSU is an optical components company whose products are used by CIEN, NT, LU et. al. to make their products.

NT, CIEN, LU make network equipment and their products are used by wholesale service providers like NOPT & WCG as well as end user service providers like SBC, MCI et. al.

NOPT is a wholesale bandwidth provider to telecom service companies (people selling bandwidth and services to end users).

All three groups have fundamental differences in their business model which make revenue/profitablity comparisons meaningless.

JDSU = airplane component manufacturer
NT = airplanes (e.g. Boeing)
NOPT = Aircraft fleet leasing
MCI = United airlines

Thank you very much for taking the time to educate me on NOPT. That is very helpful. I am interested in taking a position after the effects of this 'correction' is completed. The valuations are still lofty and I will not be surprised to see all we discussed down another 20% from here. Thanks again for helping me with your input. Sincerely, Steve D.
