You can't gauge anything by this past March, there should be no doubt in your mind that the Nasdaq was in a bubble in March, and has deflated. The question you ought to be asking yourself is whether it will continue to deflate. As for whether 3rd quarter earnings beat last year's earnings, the question in your mind ought to be what kind of guidance it will give concerning 4th quarter earnings. Companies that are forecasting declining earnings in the 4th quarter are being taken out and shot behind the barn. JMHO.
