The answers in the surveys given to the public and given to the journalists where not all the same. In particular I noticed that on the tax issue "Was about right" was not an answer given. It was voluntered by 10% but how many would have changed there vote to it if it was offered as an answer?

Another important point is that the surveys were not taken
during the same years. Over time opinions change.

Tim

Dan,

There is a difference of what people say and what they do. If you rely on journalists' self description, you may come to an erroneous conclusion as the one you liked to in your post.

The one I referred to is a lot more reliable, because it's based on what the journalists did - vote for Clinton - not what they say - that they are "moderate". Everybody I know describes him/herself as "moderate".
