Walt:

Last info I have is from the summer when 3Com said it would retain a 20% minority stake in the "new" US Robotics venture that was started as a result of the sale of the analog modem business to Singapore based NatSteel and Taiwan based Accton. But NatSteel pulled out of the purchase of 3Com's plant in Illinois (where I thought modems were manufactured), and that plant will now be sold to MSL. So I don't know if the 20% stake still exists - I would think so, but have no info.
