thread_loser_1997,

I had a nice day at Microprocessor Forum. The TeamDDR booth was packed with interested onlookers, but the poor Rambus lady looked like the Maytag repairman.

They showed off quite a few 4-layer DDR motherboards running PC2100 DIMMS on Athlon and PIII. DDR is now for sale at Crucial with a whopping 0% price premium over PC133. (Micron said the more expensive DDR might come at a 5% price premium.)

No stability issues reported, and expect a big DDR launch before you can pull your head out into the sunshine.

The AMD speaker did make the comment "DDR is dead", but not in the context the thread_loser might expect. ;^)
