I am one of them who's awaiting DDR MB's.

Milo,

I am not sure that I made myself clear. As an example, I am saying that CPQ figured it needed 500k chips for Q3 and 700k in Q4. To be on the safe side, because of Intel's problems earlier this year (where they claimed demand problems but it may have been more yield related), they ordered 1 million chips for Q3 to be on the safe side. To their surprise, they actually got 1 million chips.

So CPQ would have no recourse but to drop its Q4 order to 200k, or 500 k less than expected. If everyone did that, then AMD's Q3 will look great but Q4 guidance will have to be reduced.

This whole possible scenario may explain why no one is seeing the normal seasonal pickup in PC chips.

Milo,

I don't know. Watching Brosius tonite....he was ragging on Seattle, and then he turns to this other guy and said (and I quote) "The only place that sucks worse than Seattle is Portland." No joke!!

I think he's changed. You might want to stick with the good guys. ;~))

Edit. Mariners just hit a homer...Sea. leads 2 to nada!!
