As for abortions, I consider that a more complex issue. It can be argued there the rights of more then one person are involved.

Not by my standards until very late term. At that point I get queasy. I've based my position upon neurological development analogs and the parasitic relationship of the fetus to the mother. This dependency is entirely detrimental to the carrier if not by her choice and is essentially biological slavery (dominion of one over the other by necessity). That opinion was upheld by the courts, thank goodness.

Sure abortion is an ugly birth control method. And I think people have a moral responsibility to act as soon as possible. But I'm reluctant to legislate morality in any form (including your support of private use of drug tests which have a high rate of false positives - I work for a diagnostic company and I know!) or allow others to do it to you. Seems conservative people always want to legislate things that others do, but not the things they do. How can you simultaneously advocate restriction of women's rights to their persons (4th amendment) while claiming an absolute right to something as relatively unnecessary on a daily basis as guns? Just doesn't make sense. I want to preserve your right to your gun (with the historical allowed restrictions) and her right to abortion (with its restrictions).

Morally, the earlier the better, IMO, for abortion. Why was there such an outrage against RU-486 in this country do you suppose? That is an EARLY solution when the fetus has the about the same neural development as a shrimp.
