Stocks move on news and/or emotion. That's it.

And that emotion is translated directly into buys/sells by humans and is manifested on charts. Are you then saying that traders cannot predict emotional responses? That's what TA is.

And those emotions and news as they are reflected in price and volume is exactly what TA tries to analyze and draw conclusions from concerning likely behavior in the future.

Judging from your arguments it seems to me like you really don't know much at all about TA. Maybe if you would approach it with a little more open-minded attitude and take the time to study things before forming an opinion you could actually get something out of it for yourself. Or are you only posting here to bring forth your prejudices?

As a matter of fact I and many others on this thread make a comfortable living through technical trading. And I'm sure you agree that one's bank roll is pretty good at indicating if you're doing the right things.

Which is why I would like to see it "field tested" here

Seems like this goes both ways. Do you know an FA person that can predict the position of a stock at the end of next week any better? Or how about predicting the path of a stock for one hour with FA. I would think that would be hard to do. It was not hard to do at times today using TA.
