I just took a look at several of the issues that dgurgel used to list in his VUI index. Here are my (unscientific) opinions:

ACVC - Active Voice Corp; since June, modest uptrend, consistently better than the S&P 500; Sep/Oct, range trading, now at the bottom of its range.

GMGC - General Magic; since June, range trading, now at the bottom of its range; alternately better and worse than the S&P 500, currently worse

LHSP - Lernout & Hauspie; since June, downtrend, consistently worse than the S&P 500; Sep/Oct, severe drop, now trading at lows

LU - Lucent Technologies; since June, downtrend, consistently worse than the S&P 500; Sep/Oct, trading near lows (sharp drop reported after hours today)

MOT - Motorola; since June, range trading, now at bottom of range; alternately better and worse than the S&P 500, currently worse

NUAN - Nuance Communications; since June, sharp up-move, followed by back-off; Sep/Oct, negative bias (down sharply on high volume, today); generally better than the S&P500

RMAG - Registry Magic; since June, initial upsurge followed by downtrend, worse than S&P500; Sep/Oct, may be building a base (slight negative bias)

SPWX - Speechworks; recent issue, initial upsurge followed by sell-off; Sep/Oct, range trading, currently better than the S&P 500

VOXW - Voxware; since June, steady downtrend, consistently worse than S&P 500; Sep/Oct, downtrend, sharp sell-off today

General Magic is not the worst in the list, by a long shot.
