Intel Denies Media Reports That it
Has Selected a New Fab Site
Posted Oct. 10, 2000; WW42
From Gary D. Fackler, Worldwide Employee Communications

An Intel spokesperson categorically denied media reports that Intel has selected the country that will play host to its next microprocessor fabrication site (fab).

"Intel uses a site selection team to evaluate different geographic regions that might be suitable for future fabs," says Chuck Mulloy of Intel's Press Relations group. "But the group has not selected a region for a new site and we have not released any time tables for the construction of new fabs."

Mulloy added that Intel does not comment on future Intel sites nor construction time tables until a final decision has been made.

Joe,

I've been looking for a tech chart that doesn't look like that <g>. The hate AMD thing was tongue in cheek, of course.

Actually it's good to see him sticking to his convictions, as misplaced as they have proved to be.
