Ted,

Please stop hiding behind sugar.

I don't want to get into a debate about nutrition, but let me just say that sugars are right up there, as high as tobacco. Suppose you don't smoke and are not involved in behavior that would put you at risk of AIDS. What are the remaining leading causes of death? Sugar is a major contributor to all of them. Some call the combination of these diseases "syndrome X" since they go hand in hand - insulin resistance, diabetes, cardiovascular problems.

The difference is that everybody knows about the danger of smoking, you have warning all over the box, so if you ignore them, you may it's all your fault. There is nothing out there to warn people of the danger of increasing consumption of sugar and other harmful substances, so my message was something of a public service announcement, and in no way to suggest that tobacco is not dangerous.
