Information Architects sees revenues below target
NEW YORK, Oct 11 (Reuters) - Information Architects Corp. (NasdaqNM:IARC - news) said on Wednesday third quarter revenues would fall short of analysts' expectations, but the company would top earnings per share projections by 5 to 6 cents.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based company which makes Internet infrastructure software in the XML programming language, said estimated revenue in the third quarter would be below target at approximately $1.3 million.

Analysts polled by First Call Thomson/Financial on average predicted third quarter losses of 16 cents per share, against losses of 29 cents per share in the year earlier period. The company said losses in the third quarter would be $3 million versus analysts' estimates of a $4.8 million loss.

``While we have made significant streamlining measures, which are reflected in both our short-term and long-term bottom line, we are less than pleased with our revenue number for the quarter,'' said Robert Gruder, chairman and CEO in a statement.

He also said the results were ``largely attributed to a longer time period than anticipated in hiring key sales management personnel, which resulted in a temporary delay in realising revenue growth.''

Shares of Information Architects closed up 22/32 at $2-31/32 on the Nasdaq, at the low end of a 52-week range of 11/16 to $28-15/16.
