Well, guess what? The Congress is in play, and there's a pretty good chance that if Gore wins, he'll get a Democrat Congress.

Hillary Clinton could win, if New Yorkers prove to be as escapist or in denial of reality as much as some think, and she may get a Senate leadership position, in charge of something like Health and Human Services. Like that idea? Can you say socialized medicine? Can you say intentional policies leading to the forced, planned bankruptcy and subsequent socialization of substantial parts of the entire health care industry?

Can you say government policy which requires that after drug companies expend millions in miracle cure research, they sell their fruits at controlled prices which don't cover R&D, and which could subsequently result in reduced R&D or bankruptcy, bailed out by the government, so that government will own and/or regulate all health care; in an environment where every life is deemed (for political and litigation $$ purposes) priceless, thus requiring provision of heroic lifesaving techniques, each costing thousands of dollars a day, where failure to provie it risks facing million dollar $$$ lawsuits if they fail, multiplied by the number of US citizens, and where the demographics show that the number of aged citizens requiring such services will shortly outnumber the number of people working full time to provide their care? THIS IS A SYSTEM SET UP FOR FAILURE!!!
It doesn't take an actuary to conclude that a public health care system as proposed by the Democrats will bankrupt the nation.

We've got some real bizarre choices facing us, according to my health care industry professional friends, some of whom are exiting the field before it explodes in everyones' faces.

People need to start planning for their own lives. George Bush is proposing we take some steps in that direction. If it doesn't happen, we're all going to go down like the Kursk.

<<This is not because I prefer Gore to Bush; my opinion of both is so low that I would be hard pressed to determine which of them I like less. I want gridlock. >>

Problem is Executive Orders.
