10/11/00 - i2 Announces ``i2 TradeMatrix Pronto': E-Business On-Ramp to Marketplaces for Suppliers Packaged for Rapid Adoption, Fast Time to Value, Ease of Use and Affordability. Premier Partners are Dell, Andersen Consulting, and Inforte

SAN DIEGO, Calif., Oct 11, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- i2 Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ITWO), the leading provider of marketplace solutions, today announced that it is extending the benefits of its e-business and supply chain management solutions to a broader range of suppliers with a suite of solutions and partner programs called i2 TradeMatrix(TM) Pronto.
These solutions draw from the functionality of i2's industry-leading i2 TradeMatrix offerings and i2 experience in connecting more than 80,000 suppliers to i2 TradeMatrix Network(TM). Pronto is packaged for ease of use, fast time-to-value, and affordability.

Pronto will enable suppliers to conduct business electronically with their customers who use i2 TradeMatrix(TM) or other marketplace solutions and will provide the 4Cs of collaborative commerce, or C-commerce -- Content, Connectivity, Collaboration and Commerce. It enables a supplier to publish content, connect via the Internet to multiple marketplaces, conduct commerce, and collaborate with customers on demand and supply. In addition, this solution enables suppliers to respond to their customers with reliable and profitable supply commitments. By optimizing the planning process, businesses can unlock valuable savings and maximize revenue and profit opportunity while earning preferred supplier status with their strategic customers.

Pronto is a fast time-to-value solution. Wizards simplify installation and configuration, and an intuitive user interface and Web-based training and consulting make Pronto easy to use and maintain. Pronto is scheduled for general availability in December 2000.

"More and more business is being conducted electronically, and companies who want to keep up will have to find a way to do business this way," said Pallab Chatterjee, general manager of i2's Planning and Fulfillment Business Unit. "Pronto makes it possible for suppliers to take advantage of e-business opportunities with a solution that's tailored to meet their unique needs."

A critical component of the initiative is leveraging partner organizations to accelerate the development and wide adoption of Pronto by the broad network of suppliers.

Supply Chain Partners:

Leading channel masters are working with i2 to accelerate the development and adoption of Pronto within their value chains.

As the first Supply Chain Partner, Dell Computer Corporation will pilot Pronto among its suppliers as a way to further collaborate and drive efficiency throughout its extended supply chain. "As a customer and partner of i2, Dell knows first-hand the power of i2's supply chain management solutions in driving improved collaboration, efficiency and profitability. As the leading supplier of Intel-based servers to small and medium-sized businesses, Dell will work with i2 to bring the benefits of Pronto to its customers and supplier community," said Gene Austin, vice president for Worldwide Marketing, Dell Enterprise Systems group.

Value Delivery Partners:

Value Delivery Partners will accelerate the adoption of Pronto by providing sales, implementation and support resources.

Fast, easy implementation is one of the enablers that will allow suppliers to quickly ramp into this new technology and take advantage of the powerful capabilities of Pronto and the move to the new economy. Andersen Consulting and Inforte Corp. (Nasdaq:INFT), both leading e-business system integrators, will provide implementation services for Pronto. As part of this effort, Inforte is conducting joint development with i2 to scale down and simplify the implementation template so that Pronto can be adopted by a company in as little as two to four weeks. "Inforte is excited about the opportunity to invest with i2 as a strategic partner, extending the benefits of i2 solutions throughout the supply chain partners' value chains," said Phil Bligh, Inforte co-founder and CEO.
