All this is true, and it looks bad. But isn't it true historically that investors make all their money between mid-October and mid-March? The rest of the time, you may as well go away, or just short rallies. 4th quarter is the strongest quarter for stocks, and this is an election year. Do you still think these seasonal cycles are valid? If so, over the next several weeks/months, buying on October weakness should pay off- unless it's different 'this time'? Which it could be- but doesn't it always feel terrible at the bottom?

I agree, take profits quickly, get in and out. I'm trying!
