Hi, justone - I'm not sure how much 360 networks is risking with this move: my knowledge of network issues is sketchy. What I've read about ATM switching leads me to think one of its strengths is versatility.

What caused the post was the thought that we might be seeing one of the early signs of differentiation of 'domains' aggregated on fiber: ie, the beginnings of different network 'visions'.

It seemed to me to be a bold move, but I really don't know. Your post gives me a beginning point for further inquiry.
