Had ATT Broadband(@home) cable installed last week in place of Direct Duo Satellite and the difference is like night and day. Always on, no interruptions by weather and several times faster. Downloads are almost instantaneous. Love it.
I will admit the satellite video(digital) was perfect on TV as some cable stations have a little interference in them but I am 400 feet from the road and there is attenuation at that distance from the road distribution amp even with RG11 cable. I tried to have ATT @home install this last year while my home was being built but they were so screwed up assimilating TCI in this area(MICHIGAN) they couldn't seem to get the order straight so I went to satellite. Satellite PC download was far superior to telephone modem but heavy cloud cover or snow or rain and signal disappeared so I jumped to @home as soon as they got straightened out in this area. Seems ATT sent in some high powered installation guru and he got things under control. May bode well for investment in @home or. Ken

Sorry--I forgot to paste reference with my message.

AT&T Broadband (check the name) is digging up the street next to my house, installing
fiber in massive orange colored rolls...they now own TCI cable.
