Bambs,

I think you've touched on the critical issue... margin. There's a lot of folks in margin here which could indeed take us down. Fear... I wouldn't expect fear at all... even at 2800 folks will be saying "why sell now - we have to be near bottom". The fear days are gone because this market - over the past 10 years has shown an unbelievable ability to bounce. Margin is a problem - absolutely.

"If we close below 3150 today....it'll take us thru 3000"....

I agree with that for the most part. We'll at least get near 3000 tomorrow (if that happens)......don't know if we'll fall through...regardless, if today's rally fails, it is bad news for longs short-term...means, at a minimum, another flush out day is needed, and at lower levels...

Lots of strength, though, in the leaders of the so-called "new" economy (I've watched VIGN go up 50% in 3/4 trading days, etc).....many have bottomed in all likehood....Cisco, Msft are showing real strength too here too...I watched EMC come back 6+ in about 30 minutes, pretty solid...(EMC, SUNW...some of the last remaining "generals") got shot this morning (as Cisco, Msft...perhaps tired of being sold, didn't move too much)

Things will be pretty clear by the end of the day, one way or the other...I say we go green <G> This rally looks strong to me...
