>Washington, Oct. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Lincoln Capital Management Co. boosted its stake in Amazon.com Inc. to 5.1 percent from 2.3 percent of the biggest Internet retailer's outstanding shares.

The Chicago-based investor reported holding 18.2 million shares of Amazon.com in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission today. The short-form report didn't disclose details of any transactions, or when shares were acquired.

Lincoln Capital, headed by Chairman J. Parker Hall III, previously reported holding about 8.2 million shares of Seattle- based Amazon.com as of June 30, in a quarterly holdings report with the SEC.

Amazon.com shares have fallen about 16 percent since June 30, though they rose 3/8 to 30 7/16 in today's trading.
